As many of you may know, Max joined cub scouts last year and is currently in the Tiger Cubs, Pack 424 here in Camas. This last weekend (1/24) was the infamous pinewood derby race. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the pinewood derby race, the scouts are given a pinewood kit and are required to build their car for the race, there are lots very creative cars out there, not only do the cars compete for speed, but for various categories of design as well. Cars can not be over 5oz., etc. It gets pretty competative. First all the cars in a den compete against each other, then the winners of each den race against each other to determine an overall winner.
Max and dad made his "car" into an army tank. For the size of his tank, surprisingly he did pretty good in his race, Round 1: 2nd Place, Round 2: first place, but got eliminated in the third round. He did however win 'best overall imagination'. Congrats Max! Check out his tank and the race in the pics below...
